ain’t nobody got time fo’ that!

It’s been a weird week, y’all. Yes, I said “y’all.” I still say it consciously, but it flows easier than it used to.

But my final paper is done (that was my ENTIRE DAY Wednesday) and the realization that I don’t have classes next week is finally hitting me . . . Oh don’t get me wrong — I still have work to do. Gotta pay bills somehow. But I don’t have to manage school AND work.

Breathe . . .

Except, oh, there’s that long book list for my class next semester that I really gotta get going on. And there’s the travel plans home I still need to make. And there’s my dryer that’s not working (apparently the vent wasn’t designed properly), and the faucet out front that’s only a drip, drip, drip.

So much for washing my car.

Ughhh.

There’s also the races I still need to sign up for and the training I need to do.

So WHY am I sitting at my computer?!

Because, really, this is how I feel about all of it!*

*I would add “spiders” and “research papers” to this list!

Hope your weekend is off to a great start! :D

May the 4th be with you . . .

  1. I know that feeling.
I hope you get through all the essential stuff you need to do.
    Enjoy the week off school.
    It must be a relief.

    • Thanks, Gary! I guess we all know that feeling — the list that never ends. I try to count my blessings, but life’s stresses never seem to go completely away! Hope you’re having a good weekend!

  2. I’ve had “Make a list” on my list of things to do! My problem most times is being overwhelmed. The best advice is to tackle one thing at a time. Then after a while, you look back and you’ve actually accomplished something.

  3. Enjoy the week. Sometimes when we get time like that, it really feels refreshing. And then we realise all the things we’ve put off doing… Good luck doing what you need and want to do. Sometimes our needs and wants are of equal importance to us, and maybe they can be both too. Before you know it, it will be back to busy :D

    • Oh, I know! Next semester I’m going to be crazy busy. Hoping I can figure out how to balance it all. I often end up blogging less when I’m really busy in “real life.” I’m definitely taking this summer to recalibrate and work on a few personal goals I’ve set out for myself… I hope you’ve had a great weekend, Mabel. Thanks as always for your meaningful comments!

  4. The stresses of life just tempers our soul, makes us stronger until the moment comes when we look down at all we’ve done and smile. Congratulations on the successes you’ve already achieved, hope you take this weekend to reward yourself and relax :-) You deserve it, Jess. Cheers to a great weekend.

    • Thank you, Randall! Your comments are always so thoughtful and kind. I had a nice weekend; hope you did, too. I need to get over to your site and check out your latest work, too!
